Q – Are you the photographer(s) who will be shooting my wedding?
A – Yes. Cardens Photography is a family run company. A Carden will always be your lead photographer.
Q – Is photography a full time job for you or something you “do on the side”?
A – This is our full time job. We capture 35+ weddings a year. We also book events, portraits and magazine shoots in between weddings.
Q – Do you shoot all digital, film or both?
A – We shoot primarily digital, but also use film.
Q – What kind of pictures do you specialize in?
A – We feel it is very important to capture the day as it unfolds. Modern Photo-journalism with a classic twist best describes Carden’s style. Telling a story, with little posing or forced shots. Setting a basic pose and flowing with what happens next makes for the most truly emotional images.
Q – How long before I can see the pictures from my wedding?
A – Your online image gallery will be available within 6 weeks of the event. We post a preview on our blog within a week of your wedding date.
Q – Do you edit the images?
A – We try our best to capture the image correctly when we press the shutter button. However, we do incorporate post production on images for color correcting, contrasting etc, when needed.
Q – How large will the files be on my CD? Will they be big enough to make prints?
A – Every CD includes all the images you see in your online gallery and includes a copyright release . This enables you to make prints from the CD. Images vary in size but a good estimate is 2600×3000. This size image can easily create clear poster size prints up to 20×30 in size.
Q – Are prints important or should we just hold on to our CD and gets prints later?
A – We suggest you order the prints that come with your package, and if you have more favorites, then order them too. There is no guarantee how long CD’s will last. Certainly not long enough for your grandchildren to view. All of our images are printed on professional grade archival quality paper with a UV coating for extra protection.
Q – What if we wanted to add something to the package, can we?A – Yes we offer a la carte options. See our price list for more details.
Q – I like the images I see online. Would it be possible to see what an entire wedding looks like?
A – Of course. We would be more than happy to send more than 1. We suggest always asking to see complete weddings when shopping around for your wedding photographer. It helps you to see how consistent the photographer is throughout the whole event, not just a couple good shots from the day.
Q – Do you have backup equipment?
A – We have backups for everything we use, from the camera body, lenses to memory cards.
Q - What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?
A – We use all Nikon professional grade equipment. We do not set up tripods or umbrella lighting. We use on camera external flashes.
Q – How much time should we set aside for the formal/family pictures?
A – We suggest atleast 45 minutes to get all your formal images done. Time can vary based on family size and how intricate you want the photographs to be. It is becoming more popular for couples to see eachother before the ceremony. This is called a first look. All your pictures can be complete before the ceremony, allowing you to be able to attend your own cocktail hour.
Q – Can other people take photos while you are taking photos?
A – For formal portraits, we do ask family/friends to hold taking pictures while we are shooting. However once we are done with a certain pose family/friends can take a picture.
Q – What will you be wearing to the wedding?
A – We usually wear all black. Dress pants and dress shirt, with black shoes. If the wedding is “black tie” or more formal, let us know so we can dress appropriately.
Q – Do you require a meal at the reception?
A – No it is not required, but we do appreciate a good meal!
Q – I like what I hear! How we do officially reserve your services for our wedding!?A – A signed contract and deposit of half will officially reserve your wedding day. We do offer payment plans if needed.
